Augie and Zulu both are very sweet and affectionate dogs and love to cuddle.  Bull Terriers in general like physical contact and hugging.

Even show dogs have to be pets, first.  Temperament is of paramount importance!

Augie is my best buddy and has had my entire family wrapped around his little finger since the day he was born. He is one point away from his AKC championship under breeder judges.  I have shown him exclusively myself  in the Bred By Exhibitor Class.    He also is on his way to performance titles, with two AKC agility legs and one APDT Rally leg.

Zulu is smart, beautiful, sweet, and learned agility remarkably quickly.  Her breeders, June and Irv  Krukenkamp, were generous enough to enter into a co-ownership agreement with me, and I  now own Zulu, too.  I finished her championship easily with two five point majors at specialty shows.  She is a terrific performance dog and earned her AKC Novice Jumpers title just a few months after coming to live with me.

Both parents have beautiful head quality.  Augie in particular has as lovely fill as I have seen on a Bull Terrier. One of the challenges in breeding a Bull terrier is to maintain the gentle curve of  profile that the standard prescribes, yet retain fill under the eyes and strength in the muzzle.  The tendency is for profiles to become exaggerated and heads to fall away under the eyes, leading to a dog that looks more like a Nubian goat or toucan than a Bull Terrier.

Our standard calls for small, triangular eyes, set high up on the head, with thin ears placed high on the head.  Zulu has exceptional expression.

Breeding dogs is an exciting endeavor that combines art, science, and gambling.   A lot of thought goes into a well considered breeding, and this page is meant to introduce you to the parents of the puppies and give you some idea of why we are doing this breeding and what we hope to accomplish.

Augie Whelping Box

This puppy’s mother rejected him. Augie gently stepped in and took care of the baby.

We are hoping Zulu will be a great mother, but I wouldn’t put it past her to make me do a lot of the work ;o).  Here she is, happily watching me do house chores.

Augie has two legs on the way to his AKC novice agility titles.  He also has one leg in APDT Rally, and is working in the Canine Water Sports venue.

Zulu loves training and earned her first agility leg just four months after coming to live with me.  As you can see, she also likes floating around with me in the pool.
